Cowatec belongs to the market leaders in Germany in the field of the comprehensive process optimisation of biogas plants. Some 300 operators across Germany already use this service, which the company offers irrespective of plant type and manufacturer. From initial consulting through to the fine tuning of process procedures: this comprehensive combination of services makes Cowatec on the few full service providers for the economic generation of energy from biomass . Cowatec AG developed in March 2007 from the Cowatec GmbH company founded in 2002 by brothers Herbert und Christian Huber. In Q2 2007, the company is already supported by 60 members of staff who together can call on many years of inter-disciplinary experience in the biogas sector. Under its roof, it combines experts from the fields of agriculture, chemistry, process engineering, mechanical engineering and environmental science. Whilst this company from the Upper Palatinate originally devoted its expertise exclusively to biological process optimisation, it has now expanded its range of services to include development, planning, construction and commissioning. Since 2006, four turnkey plants in the power range of 500 kW have already been put into service. Over 30 further projects in Germany and the rest of Europe are currently in planning or under construction. Apart from its activities in Germany, Cowatec has already expanded its view of Europe with presences and projects in Hungary, Italy and Spain.
