With the Nawaro bonus, (grants for renewable raw materials), the renewable energy law has created a financial attraction for the use of renewable raw materials for the generation of energy. The anaerobic decomposition of many renewable raw materials to biogas is, however, a time-consuming process because of their high proportion of cellulose by comparison with other biomasses. Complete decomposition of the bio components required relatively long periods in the fermenter. MethaPlus accelerate the turnover of material and the gas yield increases.
As a hydrolytic enzyme, MethaPlus has the following characteristics that are favourable for the production of biogas.
- Increase of biogas production/energy generation by up to 35 percent
- Reduction and decomposition of floating layers
- Reduction of the viscosity in the fermenter
- Agitating time and agitating energy saving by up to 35 percent
- Acceleration of the biomass throughput
- Simplification of process management by reduction of interfering solutes
The "biogas-turbo" MethaPlus accelerates the decomposition of biomass that is rich in structure or raw fibre, and accelerates the fermentation process. The increase in efficiency caused by MethaPlus is often high enough for a surplus to be earned by the electricity generated that is substantially higher than the cost of the enzyme supplement. The profitability of MethaPlus is already reached when 3% is added. This supplementary process additive is already increasing the efficiency of 300 biogas plants.
