Using a well-devised conception that is supported by years of experience, Cowatec biogas plants offer a combination of many technical plus points. Thus the horizontal flow fermenter provides optimal mixing that prevents a floating sludge layer, and is the main contributory factor to processing biomass that is rich in fibre. An external counter-flow heat exchanger is used rather conventional internal heating pipes, in order to prevent encrustation. Agitator motors are mounted outside the fermenters, so that they are readily accessible for maintenance. Furthermore, Cowatec biogas plants have a low power requirement, which increases the profitability of the entire biogas plant.
